Albert Newton

A Franco-British artist born in the English countryside in 1993, Henry de Montbazon aka Albert Newton welcomes us into the metaphysical world of his debut album 'Twin Earth', released on February 2023 on Byebye records - a 10-track album as influenced by Bowie, Phillip Glass, Tame Impala and Solange. In his lyrics, he maps traditional sentimental emotions as well as their place in celestial urbanism. Nothing is ever perfect on the blue planet, but Albert Newton looks at it with tenderness and gratitude and communicates a much-needed optimism.

After releasing a first EP, Bedroom Posters (Spring) in 2020, Albert Newton crossed paths with quantum mechanics researchers and astrophysics enthusiasts who opened his eyes to the beauty and complexity of the world around him. This discovery quickly became an obsession—and a major source of inspiration for his debut album.

Following a series of lectures, readings, and experiments, he entered the studio in summer 2022 with producer Max Baby (Drugdealer, Hannah Jadagu, Goldie Boutilier) to begin shaping Twin Earth—a 10-track album as inspired by Bowie, Philip Glass, and Tame Impala as it is by Solange. A graceful balance between earth and sky, where his music makes us float somewhere between dream and gravity.
