MaMaMa

MaMaMa is the new project of Elliot Diener, formerly known as Petit Prince. The name—somewhere between the Italian Mama and the Alsatian Mamama—echoes the importance of resonance in his music, whether familial, geographical, or emotional.

With MaMaMa, Elliot embraces a more personal, freeform take on indie pop. His tracks unfold like multi-stop journeys where tension gives way to flight, nostalgia to comfort, melancholy to dance. His last album Hier sera meilleur (2023), written and produced entirely by himself, blends synthetic textures and acoustic layers with bold, unclassifiable arrangements.

MaMaMa carries forward an artistic vision rooted in independence, ambivalence, and sincerity.

Hier Sera Meilleur

An intimate, vast, and mineral landscape — that’s the world of MaMaMa’s first album.

“Hier Sera Meilleur” (“Yesterday Will Be Better”) is the most personal project the musician has ever undertaken. It’s an album of confessions and echoes: echoes of the world within him, of the past that haunts and fuels the present, and of a future that’s already whispering to us.

Entirely composed, written, arranged, and mixed by Elliot, the tracks blend organic recordings with synthetic production. Euphonium, saxophone, clarinet, and a studio-recorded string quintet intersect with a range of synthesizers and electronic textures.

Ancient timbres meet modern sounds. Black and white turns into color.Everything shifts; nothing is ever quite what it seems. But for the length of a song, we’re there. Yesterday will be better.
